Kellen Young's TV journalism experience spans nearly two decades.
LOUISVILLE, KY -- Kentucky native Kellen Young has been appointed news director of WLKY, Hearst Television’s CBS affiliate serving Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana. Young returns to his home state after serving as assistant news director at sister station WLWT in Cincinnati, where he helped oversee daily newsroom operations and major local coverage.
Raised in Georgetown, Kentucky, Young brings nearly two decades of television-news experience to the Louisville station. His career has included positions at WCVB in Boston, WXII in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and WKYT in Lexington. While at WCVB, Young earned three Emmy Awards for breaking-news coverage, including reporting on major police tragedies in Massachusetts.
In his new position, Young will lead WLKY’s newsroom, guide editorial strategy and oversee the station’s local news operation across its television and digital platforms.
